Up to now, only applications pre-installed on Android smartphones such as Play Services, YouTube, Maps and many other Google applications have reached 5 billion downloads. But now Facebook has become the first non-Google application to achieve this number. Facebook’s achievement of 5 billion downloads on Android was achieved five years after the planet’s largest social network surpassed the 1 billion downloads mark in 2014, and then Facebook Messenger’s turn with the same number in 2015.
This means that, whether condemning or criticizing Facebook’s management, or scandals related to personal data of users, we still can not “detox” this social network.
